Tollesbury Ancestry Group The Inaugural Meeting of Tollesbury Ancestry Group on 23rd Jan was well attended, with most people who attended joining on the night. This is a friendly group for anyone interested in tracing their family tree, whether new or experienced researchers, all are welcome, please bring laptops, tablets etc if you have one. We are an independent self-help group with monthly meetings where we can discuss each other’s research needs and problems, and advise each other on the many resources available for family tree research , how to get the best information from them, and help in any other way we can. These include exchanging information on free online websites, subscription sites, software, libraries, record offices etc. We will have some time at each meeting for internet research, or to use the library of books, magazines and CDs that we have begun to collect. We will also be organising occasional talks for members by various experts to help break down the ‘brick walls’ of our research. Meetings will be the first Wednesday in each month, with no meetings in August and December. Membership is either £25.00 annually or £7.00 quarterly, non-members are welcome to attend a meeting for £3.00. An internet forum is being set up so that members can contact each other for advice between meetings with their research problems.
