Tom Seale and I went down to Midford in the rain today to burn up the massive piles of arisings from our last cutting session. Fortunately we had some kindling as the wood was very wet and took a bit of coaxing to light. We had a very successful day and managed to burn just about everything, much to the astonishment of passers-by. As no-one else turned up we decided not to cook the sausages I had taken down, so they live to fight another day. We left wet but satisfied with our efforts.
