Tom Stidham, loving husband, father, poppy, needs type B or O kidney. To share your spare, please call OU med ctr 888-777-7081 or KU Med Ctr 800-332-6048. Description We are desperately trying to spread the word to find a kidney donor (type B or O) for a wonderful husband, father, poppy, Vietnam Veteran & State Farm Agent, Tom Stidham. He was diagnosed with PKD, Polycystic Kidney Disease, in 2012 and currently is in Stage 4 Renal Failure. To prevent dialysis and continued (and possibly fatal) AVM Bleeds (he has had 3 within a year), his best option is a hero - a living donor. He is very healthy, with the exception of his genetic PKD. To Share your Spare (or know someone who can), please contact OU Medical Center, (Oklahoma City) 1-888-777-7081 or The University of Kansas Hospital, (Kansas City, KS) 1-800-332-6048. We are able to have the transplant surgery at EITHER location. Having PKD has been a life changing event for our family. This disease is genetic - it means each one of his 3 daughters, have an equally 50% chance of carrying this chromosomal mutation. PKD is when cysts form on the kidneys, and in time, the kidneys can no longer function to remove toxins from the body. Ultimately, a person must go on dialysis or have a kidney transplant. About Tom...He met his wife, Barbara, in the 3rd grade, and have been sweethearts ever since. They have been married for over 47 years and he still keeps the black and white picture of her (from her Junior High years) in his wallet. Their years together produced 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. He served his country in Vietnam and spent many years at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. He has served over the last 30 years as a State Farm Agent (and still at it). He has helped 100s, maybe 1000s of people over his years in the service and in his agency. We are praying just 1 can help him now.
