Tom had woken up early today and was feeling pretty good. He was thinking that maybe this clean living and exercise regime was actually paying off. He had enjoyed a chance meeting last night with an old friend, Davos Submarine. They shared a beer and talked about Lily Langtree but at the mention of the name Lily, Tom could only picture von Schtupp! Maybe that’s why he had woken early. Yanto was in good form too, f’ing and blinding to all and sundry about all and sundry. Tom couldn’t help thinking that the way to succeed was to behave like a complete philistine and drink a bottle of snake oil every night. Mind you, Tom is no stranger to snake behaviour what with his hips and all. Yanto’s henchmen had held their customary talking shop in the office he and Tom shared and as usual the meeting comprised of four people with three different conversations going on at the same time. Tom was usually amused by this as nobody acknowledged anybody else and they all walked away not having made one decision or agreement. It did however prove to be a good soapbox for Yanto and his revolutionary thoughts on harmony and integration. Generally summarised by wanting to kick the shit out of that dickhead or f**k the living daylights out of some other unsuspecting individual who may have incurred his wrath by asking for some outrageous task to be completed. After all he was the ranch foremen and it wasn’t for him to be working and getting things done. Tom was tiring now wondering when the world would get into step with him, “never” he thought, “never”
