Tom has finished repairing ( complete refurbishment ) of the bench. When we bought the house there was a derelict old bench out the front. It was deadly and just held up by good luck and leaning against the house. But it had history. The old couple who lived in the house previously used to sit out on it all the time. Tom decided to rebuild it in their memory. The most difficult part was trying to replace the wood. It was not easy. Finally after 2 years of trying he found a place nearby who would do it as a bit of a favour ( not of course without a price). They did a fantastic job. Tom was then able to vanish it all, cut the 2 pieces that were to wide to fit nicely and attach it. All firmly to the ends. Today. We sit on it for the first time.he will engrave a little plaque and send it for attachment once we get back to Australia. Saluté
