Tom update: tomorrow will be 5 months since his stroke. He is talking a bit more, but mostly his thoughts are scrambled still. .he enjoys his tv shows, is still ocd about anything out of place. I have been able to leave him for short periods of time without fear of him burning down the house. ( I put a table cloth over the island stovetop)..out of sight kinda thing. .he has days where he remembers my name, but calls me momma as a rule.. Im taking it as a term of endearment, as pushing anything else isnt worth the battle. He reads pretty good, may not understand it all, but he is still trying. His arm mostly frozen, as he says it just hurts too much when he moves it. . Same with his hand. As I have had to spend more time with my mommabear, it looks like he has given up. He doesnt want to go anywhere, a visit or two to the refrigerator is tantamount to a child on Christmas morning. I think he has accepted this, which is unacceptable to me. It is my nature to fight back and his to give up. I cant fight this battle for him..I can nag him into trying but it is a daily struggle. .we still laugh at some of his musings, but it seems less than before with all of the other pressure we are under. . Hopefully, windows and doors will be opening soon, and the struggle not too much to bear..as always. .I keep fighting the good fight. .. :)
