Tommy is eating today! No more NG tube! He is so happy he is FINALLY getting to eat and drink after 9 days of an empty stomach. It was so frustrating not being able to give him anything but ice chips, but it wasnt worth the risk of him possibly aspirating and getting pneumonia again. He is talking much better and his voice is starting to come back. Physical therapy came and actually helped him stand on his feet. He was so happy, he cried. His sarcasm and stubbornness is back full force, and I couldnt be happier. He continues to impress each doctor and nurse he meets because of his rapid improvements. I think its safe to say that we now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Its a long tunnel ahead, but the path is getting brighter each day. Thank you, Lord.
