Tomorrow I get to see my favorite band again, YES. Theyll be in San Jose. Ive seen them every tour I could, every one since 1979 ,except 1988 (I was in Europe), 1996 (didnt know about it) and 2012 (touring with miRthkon). YES showed me, as a kid, that it was possible to combine amazing musicianship with complex arrangements, melody and harmony and counterpoint, in a rocking context that always amazed and inspired me. I became a musician because of them. Over the years I still seek out their recordings and live sets, to feed my musical soul and give me inspiration and hope. Their music is always uplifting and joyful. Thanks to all their members for this awesome ride, and a shout-out to new kid, singer Jon Juano Davison who is taking our band into its next life. In 2004 I released a cd called SAXLIFE plays YES: TOTAL SAX RETAIN, my arrangements of Yes performed by me as a sax quartet.
