Tomorrow I go to court as a witness to the prosecution for the dog that was locked in a SUV at my office parking lot a month ago. Police had to jimmy the door open to gain access and by then the dog was in obvious distress. Sooooo, in my usual OCD fashion I gleaned a chart on estimated vehicle air temp of a car vs outside air temps in 10 minute increments. The dog was in there for over an hour that Im aware of. Temps on a standard 70 degree day could reach 115 degrees in that period of time. Factor in no shade, 4 MPH wind which is nil, and on hot macadam and Im sure it reached at least that much. Also in my file folder, the timeline as I kept track of it all, and a history of weather conditions, hour by hour, for the 17601 area code. Not sure what the officer will have prepared but I have a feeling I may have a bit more in the arsenal. Wish us luck!
