Tomorrow I will be starting my countdown of the top ten best album releases of 2014. Although, in the meantime, there is one release this year that didnt make the top ten because technically it isnt a full-length, but rather a four-track EP (and blended with a few remixes) which gets an honorable mention. Artist: Youth Code Album: A Place to Stand Release: September 23, 2014 Genre: Electronic, Industrial, Post-industrial, Experimental Link: (Soundcloud) https://soundcloud/youth-code Youth Code has been making large waves in the “Industrial” world ever since they pushed out their self-titled debut, running through rigorous touring and an incredibly helpful word-of-mouth by the underground scene. Tracks like “Let the Sky Burn,” “Carried Mask,” and “What is the Answer?” have grabbed the attention of, dare I say, rivet heads and the like. They have indeed ended up with a left of field fan base, spanning from old-school EBM-heads, a portion of the hardcore crowd, as well as even some of the so called hipster generation. Revolting, anti-authority lyrics accompanied by impressive layouts and blends of electronics and samples make Youth Code a definitive act to watch for 2015. Attention must be paid to this California duo, as they are doing everything right these days. https://youtube/watch?v=4h5uEPH5IFE
