Using Musical Language to Speak and Heal Souls BTOT 2015 Monday, January 12 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (I) 939 Boylston Street, Café 939 Session Description In the words of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” Ancient cultures saw music as a healing tool. In many religions, music is also the main instrument to help people experience the supernatural. This session acknowledges music to be the language that communicates with the soul and aims to discuss the historical, spiritual, and social role music has played in bettering human interaction.
