Tomorrow Lana is off to St Georges to have her portacath removed. The port was put in when Lanas veins collapsed and couldnt take anymore injections, its been used to administer medicines and check bloods for the past 11 months. Its being removed as its not being used as often, and still runs a risk of infection as long as it remains in her body. This is another positive step! We hope the operation will be straight forward and we get to come home within 24hrs. Itll be strange spending a night on Nicholls Ward, it was our home for 3 months.... Im looking forward to seeing some of the nurses, play assistants and hopefully surgeons that took care of us during those long weeks. We will also be popping into the Ronald McDonald House to make a donation, and to thank them once again for allowing us and our friends to stay and being such wonderful support. Its nice to know we will be a normal patient tomorrow. xx
