Tomorrow, October 1st, kicks off the fall yard debris burn season. Here are a couple things to know before you burn this fall: 1. You can only burn yard debris from your property. You cannot burn trash, lumber, or other materials. Burning is regulated by the DEQ and is allowed day to day based on air quality considerations from DEQ air tests. 2. You must attend your burn at all times, have a garden hose and shovel ready in case it gets out of hand, and put it out when you are done. 3. Just because you live in the rural area doesnt mean you qualify for agricultural burning. Ag burning is only for the removal of legally burnable debris from a for profit farming operation. Even agricultural burns are prohibited from burning tires, plastics, dead livestock, and dimensional lumber. 4. Remember, effective January 1, 2015 residents in the city limits of the City of Forest Grove will only be allowed one time of year to burn, which will be during the spring burn season which runs from March 1 to June 15. This is only for residents inside the Forest Grove city limits. For daily burning information check out the wesbite linked here. burndaymessage/
