Tomorrow Summ goes in for pre-admin so she will have a blood test done to make sure her numbers are good enough for her 3 day admittance for chemo. If everything checks out then on Wednesday she will be admitted to the hospital and will receive vincristine, spinal tap, bone marrow aspiration and her high dose of methotrexate. If I can explain this right the methotrexate starves all of the cancer cells by taking away folic acid. After 24 once they feel like the cancer cells have died or smothered they administer the rescue drug which then puts folic acid back into her system so there wont be any damage to her internal organs. She will then be observed for the rest of the stay to make sure everything has went as planned. It is supposed to be a 3 day minimum stay, so lets hope that is all it takes.
