Tomorrow, Tuesday, 5th August, at 1.10pm in the hall, two of the NEGS peripatetic staff, Margaret Butcher (violin) and Robyn Bradley (piano) will be performing Samuel Barbers violin concerto. Written in 1939, the concerto has soaring melodies supported by rich harmonies. The first movement is filled with beautiful contentment, the second movement with emotional pain and the third movement is a fun perpetuum mobile. The whole concerto lasts about 25 minutes. This is a great opportunity to hear an important twentieth century work performed live in your own assembly hall.
