Tomorrow (Tuesday 9th September) the Cuba Solidarity Campaign will be welcoming René González to Liverpool for a public meeting at 7.30pm, at Jack Jones House, 2 Churchill Way, Liverpool: René González, the first of the Miami Five to be released, is due in Britain between 8-10 September next week to speak at meetings to mark the 16th anniversary of their arrests. He will be accompanied by his wife, Olga Salanueva, who will also speak at events. René has been invited by MPs to address a meeting in parliament and by the TUC to address their Congress in Liverpool. Please come to welcome René to Britain and hear him speak about why he needed to go to the US to defend Cuba, his 13 years in a US prison and 20 months on forced parole in Miami, being denied visitation rights from his wife, and his role in the continuing international campaign for freedom and justice for the remaining prisoners.
