Tomorrow Tuesdays Le Tour de Ham is LOTS OF LIGHTS night! Le Tour de Ham is the largest weekly ride in Alabama, this social bicycle ride tours through the fun parts of our city. It was created by Stan Palla and Véronique Vanblaere (Naked Art Gallery). Silvertron Cafe is the ride sponsor. It begins at 6:05 pm on Tuesdays on teh VRichards parking lot, across from Naked Art in the heart of Forest Park and ends with food, drinks and fun at Silvertron Cafe in Forest Park. Please join AlaBike, support Naked Art Gallery and Silvertron Cafe as they support us! (Tour de Hammers get a 10% discount at Naked Art Gallery between 4 pm and 6 pm on Tuesdays and 15% discount at Silvertron Cafe after the ride!) Arrive across the street from Naked Art 15 minutes early to assemble bike, air tires, etc... YOU CAN PARK your card on the former Killarneys lot, just up 38th street from Clairmont Ave, on the left. This ride is for everyone. No spandex or fancy bike required. We travel 10 miles in a basically flat ride. DONT FORGET LOTS OF LIGHTS! Tail and head lights are recommended. Also a spare tube and a method to inflate is needed. It is not a law to wear a helmet in Birmingham or most of Alabama but we recommend it. It is your choice. However all research shows you are safer with it on. We do expect you to obey the law. We are trying to represent cycling in a good light. Rides will be cancelled due to bad weather. We do not ride if it is raining or if under 40 degrees. You can if you want. The ride tour has changed, come discover it. About 12 miles. To lock your bike during dinner, there are bike racks at Naked Art, up the stairs if you dont mind carrying your bike a few steps. Drinks, food and shenanigans at Silvertron Cafe afterwards!
