Based on their past accomplishments & current college recruitment, here are the best players that they’ll play against in the preseason. First Team C- ‘16 Derek Funderburk (Lakewood St. Edward): Offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa, Xavier, etc. PF- ’15 Carlton Bragg (Cleveland VASJ): 5 star recruit & #1 player in Ohio’s ’15 class. Top 5 schools are Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Illinois, & UCLA. SF- ’15 Kipper Nichols (Lakewood St. Edward): #6 player in Ohio’s ’15 class. Holds offers from Xavier, Northwestern, Clemson, Tulane, etc. SG- ’15 Brian Parker (Cleveland VASJ): Committed to Marist. PG- ’17 Markell Johnson (Cleveland East Tech): Among Ohio’s top prospects for Ohio’s c/o 2017. Second Team C- ’16 Micah Potter (Mentor): Dominant big man for one of the better shooting programs in Ohio. PF- ’15 Derek Pardon (Cleveland VASJ): 6’8” senior who is committed to Northwestern. SF-’16 Mitch Peterson (Walsh Jesuit): 6’5 junior who gets hot from behind the arc. SG- ’16 Yavari Hall (Warrensville Heights): Heavy interest from Virginia Tech, Cleveland State, several MAC schools, etc. PG- ’15 Anthony Carmon (Cleveland East Tech): One of the more underrated prospects in Ohio’s c/o 2015. Now, using the same criteria above, here are the best players that WGH will play against in the regular season. First Team C- ’16 Jon Teske (Medina) Seven foot junior already committed to Michigan. PF- ’15 Montell McRae (Cleveland Central Catholic): Holds offers from Manhattan, Cleveland State, several MAC schools, etc. SF- ’16 Tervell Beck (Cleveland Central Catholic): Holds offers from Pitt, Xavier, UNLV, Kent State, etc. SG- ’16 LePear Toles (Canton Timken): Averaged 19.2 ppg & 3.1 spg last year. Holds offers from several MAC schools. PG- ’15 Mark Hughes (Youngstown Ursuline): Committed to Wright State. Second Team C- ’17 Malik Burton (Cleveland St. Ignatius): Solid big man on a highly disciplined Iggy team. PF- ’17 Logan Hill (Massillon Jackson): Rising star in Ohio’s c/o 2017. SF- ’17 Jaylen Harris (Cleveland Heights): One of the better athletes in Ohio’s c/o 2017. SG- ’15 Antwon Lillard (Cleveland Central Catholic): Holds offers from Kent State, Arkansas State, Manhattan, etc. PG- ’15 Tyler Dunn (Massillon Jackson): Committed to Walsh.
