Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9th, The David C. Driskell Center will present its Thirteenth Annual Distinguished Lecture in the Visual Arts in Honor of David C. Driskell, featuring Charlayne Hunter-Gault. Her talk is entitled FROM THE JIM CROW SOUTH TO THE HORIZONS: A JOURNALIST’S JOURNEY. Hunter-Gault is an award-winning journalist and author with more than 40 years of experience in the industry. As a global journalist, Hunter-Gault has returned to NPR as a chief special correspondent in Africa after spending six years as CNNs Johannesburg Bureau Chief and Correspondent. In August 2005, she was inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame. The evening will begin with a reception from 5-6PM, and will continue with the lecture at 6. Free and opened to the public.
