Tomorrow evening, the SAUs Heritage and Chamber Singers will be presenting their Fall Concert. This event will be held at Central Baptist Church at 7 pm. The evening’s program includes well-known Christmas tunes including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Deck the Halls,” and the Renaissance composer, Tomas Luis Victoria’s of the Latin text “O magnum mysterium,” as well as lesser-known holiday compositions in Latvian, English, and Latin. The second half of the concert features the combined forces of the Heritage and Chamber Singers in a performance of British composer, John Rutter’s “Gloria.” Joining the singers will be members of the SAU instrumental department on brass and percussion, with Mrs. Sharon Ard at the organ. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. The singers have been actively raising funds for an anticipated performance on the stage of New York City’s Carnegie Hall in 2015, including chili cook-offs, hot chocolate sales and garages sales. If you would like to make a donation toward their travel, please contact Jeanie Bismark, Director of Development and Executive Director of SAU Foundation at 235-4078.
