Tomorrow is Election Day. Please vote. Our local candidates have worked very hard and deserve our attention. I like to keep my votes private, but I will share that I am voting Yes for the School Levy. (fyi, this vote will be on the other side of your voting card, so dont forget to turn it over!). The money raised through the School Levy will help our schools keep our buildings safe by providing $ to fix things like roofs. It will give our county autonomy (we can spend it on what Tucker Co knows it needs, not on what the state thinks we need). We can double our money! The funds raised by voting Yes on the School Levy will be used to match other funds. (so for instance if we raise 250,000, we can spend 500,000. but if we dont have the levy, we get zero). Currently 44 of our counties have a school levy and I want Tucker County to provide for our kids as well as the rest of the state. When I look at all the things I love about Tucker County, I know that it is because of people who went to DTEMS, Tucker Valley, TCHS (and of course those who went to schools in Thomas and Parsons back in the day ) I owe it to them, to our current students and to the future of this county to vote yes.
