Tomorrow is Election Day, and when you go to the polls please keep in mind that this election is costing you over ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Yes, you read that correctly. The Nueces County Clerk is charging the hard-working men and women in Nueces County $1,086,680.10 to conduct this years elections. Our schools are collectively paying over $300.000.00! Check out how much each entity is being charged- keep in mind that the County Clerk sets these fees: Nueces County - $289,348.38 Del Mar College - $248,806.09 Corpus Christi - $246,553.74 CCISD - $199,254.40 Robstown ISD - $30,328.19 Calallen ISD - $23,571.15 T-M ISD - $19,066.45 Flour Bluff ISD - $16,814.10 West Oso ISD - $16,814.10 Banquette ISD - $12,309.40 Driscoll ISD - $10,057.05 London ISD - $10,057.05 How can the current County Clerk justify charging these outrageous fees and taking much-needed resources from our local schools? Our elections should not be used as a revenue generator, and especially not on the backs of our schools and community. Folks, this is the main reason Im running for Nueces County Clerk-- to stop our schools and community from being taken advantage of with these outrageous election fees. I can and I will stop this waste and abuse, but Im going to need your help to get it done. I need you to VOTE. Please vote Kara Sands for Nueces County Clerk and help me bring fiscal accountability and transparency to your County Clerks office.
