Tomorrow is Friday and a very special day--it is the day I met Donna, and that was 50 years ago. We met on a blind date and within four months we were married. Now many of you would think that our 50th anniversary would be the wedding, but I consider the day we met the most important day in my life. I cannot imagine my life without her. So, Friday the 23rd of August, 1963 will always be my day.... The sad part of this day will be that Donna has no memory of our meeting or for that matter our life together. The memories are held in our sons, grandchildren, family, and friends who knew our life. I will say that it was difficult to convince her that meeting me was the best thing to happen in her life, and her parents were not thrilled that I was soon to take their 19yr old daughter in marriage. For many years she ran the house and kept the boys and me out of trouble. I now take care of the most important person in my life and I would not change that for the world. However, times have changed and to any boy out there who thinks I would sit by and allow any of my granddaughters to even think of marriage at 19/20, they would be wise to think twice.... To Donna on this day--I am so glad I went on the date!!! You are still the lady of the house.
