Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Day and also the 54th birthday of Harolds Restaurant Thousand Oaks, which first opened on January 19, 1961. This photo of Harolds courtesy of Conejo Through the Lens is circa March 1962, when this eatery was located up the street. Namesame Harold Warner, born in Green Bay in 1923, helped start Du-Pars Thousand Oaks (which closed in 2009) but later he and his family opened Harolds House of Omelettes, which has withstood the test of time! The eatery claims to have served over 15 million eggs through the years! Their menu includes over 30 omelettes, homemade Mexican food, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and more.
