Tomorrow is New Years Eve, which I think many of you hate. I do too. It is the holiday equivalent of not knowing what to do with your arms. But, as the clock strikes midnight, it will also be the one-year anniversary of me not drinking one single Diet Coke! Not in a can, not from a 20 ounce or 2 liter bottle, not, lord help me, from a soda fountain. For those of you who have ever shared an office or home with me, you know this is huge, because I was a living science experiment whose blood was 92% aspartame. So even if you are loathing the pressure to be festive, feel let down because your plans fell through or are lamenting that your lips may go unkissed at the crucial moment, maybe you can think of me as you are counting down, crossing your fingers that I make it and that none of my enemies are able to slip me a Diet Coke mickey before the ball drops. And lets plan to do something together next year. It doesnt have to be a big deal and we dont have to drink Diet Coke to have a good time.
