Tomorrow is a year since we landed in the UK. Its been a tough year and a fantastic year. Des has been laid off with injury more than hes actually been in work, both times happening as he was just hitting his competition straps. Frankie has had some stunning wins but not quite the ones we were after. Ive met some fantastic people, some new friends and clients who have stood by me and propped me up when I needed it, supported me when I have had good times and come through with ideas and enthusiasm to keep on kicking. Ive got two new sponsors who have chosen to back me and the path Im going down and I am humbled to have them see something in me to believe I have a future. Over this past year I have often been told that I must have had such confidence in my ability to believe that I was good enough to come over. Truthfully the incentive was quite the opposite. I knew I wasnt good enough. I do have the determination and the tenacity to go after my dream and the desire to simply be the best rider and trainer I can be. And I know that I have enough talent and intelligence to be able to utilise the learning that is at every turn. Im not good enough. But tomorrow I will be better. Thats what gets me out of bed in the morning.
