Tomorrow is election day in Quincy. I am honored to represent Ward - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow is election day in Quincy. I am honored to represent Ward One on the City Council and respectfully ask for your vote for a third term. Communication has been a priority of mine since taking office and am grateful to be in touch with so many constituents via Facebook. I have been getting a lot of questions regarding ballot question #2 and want to explain. Since we passed the Community Preservation Act, Quincy charges a 1% property tax (first $100,000 of a homes value is exempt). The city money gets matched with state funds. IF Question 2 passes, the city can use the value we collect from the local hotel/motel tax to get additional matching funds from the state. We utilize Community Preservation funds historic preservation, purchase open space, affordable housing and recreation projects. Ward One has benefited from these funds with the regrading of the softball field and rehabilitation of the basketball courts at Labreque Field, historic register applications for the Souther Tide Mill, Maypole Hill and the Abigail Adams Cairn. We will be improving the circle in Germantown and I could go on and on... CPA funds are a great resource for our community and I will be supporting ballot initiative #2. Thank you for your consideration! The polls are open from 7am -8pm. Not sure where to vote? Visit the link below and enter your address to find out.
