Tomorrow is going to be a very stressful and interesting day for everyone. If we want to be successful in this fight, we need to stand together and follow our hearts. During the lock out my suggestion is for every teacher to walk out during recess and lunch and have a sign that says, Locked out by my employer. and stay out until the bell goes for back to class. I would also suggest that any signage you use make reference to being locked out rather than standing up for kids or whatever the other ones are. A lock out is completely different. The Liberals brought this on themselves, its their decision and their call to go this route. Teachers wanted to play nice and only go with a rotating strike, however the Liberals chose to lock out every teacher in every school across the province. And we are going to see the impact on this decision this entire week of school. For the lock out, I encourage all of us to follow the first letter and its directive from the BCPSEA sent to the BCTF last week. We would be wise to adhere to this order and let the cards fall where they may. Remember, this is Christy Clarkes call, not ours. The stronger we are collectively, the more effective and influential we become. We need all of us on the same page for the next while well this whole thing unfolds. Good luck to all my fellow colleagues tomorrow, stand up and stay true to yourselves. Our kids and our students deserve it. :)
