Tomorrow marks what would have been INsite contributor Caprice Padillas 31st birthday. She passed away in 2009 at 26 and we think about her often. Cystic Fibrosis was what she dealt with her whole life, but in our eyes.. she did not suffer from it. She lived life to the fullest and was a beacon of love and giving. She did more in her 26 years than most do in 90. Yes, she left US too soon, but in her time on earth she lived... truly lived. As she said in a 2004 interview in UTEP Horizons: “Cystic fibrosis has always been a part of my life, but I have never viewed it as a death sentence,” she said. “It has been my motivation to be the strongest person possible, mentally, physically and spiritually.” That she was. And she is missed.
