Tomorrow night I will be DJing for a good cause! Voted the city’s best lounge, Epernay invites Denver’s young professionals to attend the End of Summer Social on Friday, August 22nd in support of local not-for-profit organization educating Ugandan youth. The “End of Summer YP Social” will benefit the NPO, Far Away Friends, who is currently working to change the way children connect with the world around them in Colorado and Uganda, Africa. Through their cross-cultural pen pal program, this grassroots organization is inspiring global citizenship in Colorado elementary students by connecting children from the first and third world through letter writing. Their other programs include an economic sustainability project for single mothers and the construction of a primary school in a rural village in Northern Uganda. This event will bring together Denver’s most promising young professionals in business, development and social entrepreneurship to network for a cause. The social will also feature a signature cocktail, live music and a presentation by Far Away Friends about their latest school build. A portion of the evening’s sales between 5:00 and 9:00 PM will be donated to the organization to support the project. “We are so excited to bring together other young professionals in Denver to celebrate the end to an incredible summer,” said Jayme Ward, 21-year-old Co-Founder of the organization. “By partnering with Eperany Lounge, we anticipate this event to connect the young professional community in a fun and inspirational way.” Far Away Friends’ mission is to encourage global citizenship by empowering communities in need around the globe through education, cross-cultural engagement and economic sustainability.
