Tomorrows rainy Saturday got your cycling spirits down? Well do - TopicsExpress

Tomorrows rainy Saturday got your cycling spirits down? Well do not worry my friend, we have a special treat for you this Sunday, March 30th when the weather should be much better for rolling down the road! For your pleasure we have ~135 miles of cycling goodness. Our Elk Grove Express ride from Tracy to Elk Grove and back. If you are training for a double century this is your ride. There will be minimal stops on this one, for water and refueling, etc. The ride is very flat and much of it is very scenically beautiful. This route will take us north out of Tracy via Grant Line Rd and into Lathrop via our familiar Thursday ride bike path. We will head into Stockton via El Dorado and north from there into Lodi and Elk Grove via Thornton Rd and Franklin Blvd. The only traffic we should encounter is as we travel through Stockton. Most of the city routes are via bike paths, the rest is beautiful country back roads. Please be prepared with plenty of fuel and proper hydration. I did this ride last weekend split across two days and had a blast. There will be a lunch stop at the Rayleys on Elk Grove Blvd in Elk Grove. Here is a Map My Ride link for even greater detail: mapmyride/routes/view/380715050 MEET AT: Starbucks, Tracy Blvd and Valpico Rd DATE: Sunday, March 30th TIME: 7:00 a.m. DISTANCE: ~135 miles PACE: 14-16 mph overall avg. (Faster riders are welcome to ride ahead and regroup.) RIDE LEADER: Rigo Avila Jr. Please bring a taillight for safety, if you have one.
