Toms River High School on Lockdown: On December 19, 2014 at 12:08 pm the Toms River Police Department was made aware of a threat to High School East located at 1225 Raider Way. Police spokesman Ralph Stocco is reporting that the threat was apparently made yesterday morning via the social media outlet Snapchat but was not reported until today just after noon. As a precaution the school was immediately placed on lockdown and Police, Fire, and EMS units responded. Stocco states that an extensive search of the school was completed and they determined that it was safe. The lockdown was removed and dismissal is set for 1:35 pm. Police Detectives are currently interviewing a suspect and have no reason to believe that a current threat exists. This investigation is still ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
