#TomsRiverPolice Accurate Towing reported the theft of a red and yellow tire lock valued at $500. The company is authorized to tow unauthorized vehicles from the parking lot of 20 Hospital Drive. On Saturday the company “booted” a red Oldsmobile at 12:30 in the afternoon for illegally parking in the lot. The company then booted another vehicle at 2:30 and the Oldsmobile was still parked in the lot booted. Upon checking the lot at 6 p.m. the Oldsmobile and the companys boot were gone. Officer Louis Taranto is investigating the theft. --- Police are investigating a purse snatching that occurred just after 8 p.m. on Friday night on Robbins Parkway and Water street. A 45 year old Brightwater Virginia woman was walking with her sister and her husband a 54 year old Island Heights man when a male suspect ran past her and stole her purse. The victim and the witnesses were walking to their vehicle just after finishing dinner. The male witness chased the suspect east on Water street and was last observed by Spinnakers Cove. Officer Louis Taranto and Detective Robert O’Neil are investigating the theft and are looking for a dark male, 5’ 8” 1175 lbs., black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white snickers. The purse is a black coach with a pink wallet.
