Tonbridge Angels FC Statement BILLY MEDLOCK Billy Medlock is being loaned to Conference South Sutton United on a months trial under a joint registration between the two clubs. Since he joined Tonbridge Angels from Ryman South Eastbourne Town during the summer, Billy has been in tremendous form having so far this season found the net on no less than 16 occasions. It comes as no surprise therefore that he is attracting interest from various agents who have connections with clubs in both Conference Premier and Conference South. For our part we have offered Billy improved terms but he has decided to turn these down to allow him to see whether he could play at a higher level along with the benefits that full time training can bring. The loan period at Sutton will allow manager Paul Doswell and his coaching team to make an honest assessment of Billys progress and his potential to play at Step 1/2 of the non league pyramid. Angels manager, Steve McKimm said today: Of course I would love for Billy to carry on playing at Longmead, but we are not going to stand in a players way if they have the genuine ability to play successfully at a higher level. I naturally trust Paul and his team at Sutton to help us and Billy identify what the next steps should be.
