The orgin and reasoning behind the perm and the wig was indeed racist as the esteem level was low and the acceptance was next to none in approval of the white majority *employment etc. ) the mentality exists to this day even at a point where it is a lil acceptable to wear your natural do. Back then the closet to white you were the better accepted you was. Not realizing that with some wigs some of our females were not applauded but laughed at by the very same community that she was trying to fit into. Extensions while laughed at in society is actually a act of royalty and also a health and climate beneficial as the braids in the very hot regions of its origins made it possible for the hair to air out and release sweat via the open pores. The Ancient Queens were very fond of this procedure as it was a symbol of royalty. What has happened today is CONDITIONING , the effects of this and many acts back in the day that border line questioned . SO when people say Mental conditioning is not possible they need to check their facts for it is evident in our every day life.
