Tonight, Betty and I will celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary - TopicsExpress

Tonight, Betty and I will celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary with friends Ken and Linda MacPhee--at the Beach House restaurant overlooking Lovers Point in Pacific Grove--but Ill save photos taken on January 5, 1957, of the two children (I was just 20 and had to get my parents permission!) who got hitched on that day for Thursday (TBT). For now, here are some holiday photos: of the Extended Family Band at Christmas time (son Steve on electric bass; our nephew Lances son Dylan keeping solid time with an egg and an empty Main Street Station Schlitz can filled with pellets—a souvenir from my The Salty Dogs 1969 gigs back in Jaynesville, Wisconsin; Lance on guitar; me at the piano); Betty, Lance and Dylan at Asilomar Beach on Christmas Day; me, Linda, and Ken MacPhee (friends from Scotland) on New Years Eve; and our granddaughter Megan and her friend Scott, who were here yesterday. 2015 is off to a good start--even though I have to enact one last recovery-from -cataract surgery “ritual” each morning: I lie absolutely still for forty minutes while Nurse Jane (Betty) administers four drops (two for each eye), with ten minutes between each drop (to allow them to “set”), so we time the procedure by way of Frank Sinatra’s Wee Small Hours of the Morning (approximately three minutes per track, three tracks between each drop). We will enact this ritual until January 15, two days after my 79th birthday.--at which time I should be fully restored to sight. And at night, Betty and I have been watching all six Thin Man films (with William Powell and Myrna Loy, our favorite role model film couple, along with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall). Onward!
