Tonight, Fairfax Town Council repealed ordinance 778 (zoning) and enacted 780--which is the repeal ordinance, with basic consensus that they need to fix the errata in housing element and general plan, and get on with making this work. Ad hoc discussion of RENT CONTROL at end of meeting. Many small-scale landlords were very distressed about the possibility of their in-law unit being regulated and thereby destroying their sole or additional source of income. FYI--this topic will be discussed at the September 24 Affordable Housing Committee meeting--and then on the Town Council early on the agenda in early October.
