Tonight I almost died. Weve been talking about the proliferation of coyotes here. I was taking my evening laps around the parking lot. Often Im certain I hear them in the distance...tonight was no different. As I entered the darkest place on earth-the back left side of the church, I heard the usual rustling of whatever creatures live around there. I shined my flashlight app across the tombstones and saw nothing so I put my phone up. Made the turn back towards the long dark alley and then I heard it. Claws on pavement. I reached for my phone but it was too late. I knew I was going to die..seriously. The pack rounded the corner behind me in the dark at a full gallop, breathing heavily. I put my hands up around my head as I felt the first claws and paws on my back, then hot breath on my neck. The pack was on me before I could recognize it was Hurley ! Andy had brought him out, thought I saw them and said, go get your daddy! And he did. Took me about 30 minutes to stop shaking!
