Tonight I am grateful that Ive had just enough wine to be able to - TopicsExpress

Tonight I am grateful that Ive had just enough wine to be able to get most of the horrible video I saw earlier against my wishes, out of my head before I try to rest it on my pillow. I understand that hiding such things does no good through ignorance or denial. The actuality of such truths is staggering, sickening, and a blow to your heart, but it is REAL nonetheless. Real for every animal at its time of death, and real on every facet that our society ignorantly and even blatantly supports the very industry that barbarically utilizes sentient beings as food. For those of us who are not in denial of the suffering and the simple yet very real feelings of food source animals, it is very hard to unsee those things once weve seen them, to shut off feeling the fear and pain that you in your heart know, even a simple minded animal endured at the hands of others in these instances of abuse and inflicted suffering. Instead of sharing another agonizing video, I respectfully wrote a statement urging people to please not eat at fast food restaurant chains, and to consider where their meat products come from. I have absolutely nothing against eating meat, nothing against humane rendering and nothing against feeding our carnivorous selves. But, there is a better way to do such things; a kind and considerate way. A respectful way. Please, even if its just for one day- think about what it is that makes you not want to see or think about such things as in those photos or videos, what it is that makes you sick to know such things go on, and exercise your power to begin to end supporting the very establishments that shed no tear over treating animals as if they are lifeless, feelingless and soulless commodities. Even if its more expensive, if its a bit harder to acquire, using your hard earned money to purchase meat from growers, and farmers, and renderer who end the lives of animals in as effective yet a much more considerate way, will likely make you feel less guilty about whats on your plate and a little more at peace with where the future of our food industry is going. Please give your purchases a voice and a meaningful investment...support local and humane meat sources.
