Tonight I am thankful for: (I’m writing ten because I’m a couple of days behind.) 1. The love and prayers it’s going to take to get Kristie out of Peru! We have immigration in this country; I’ve seen plenty of it! Please keep Mark and Kristie in your prayers so they may be united with God’s speed. ...and when you wed I shall bake your wedding cake! 2. The love and prayers for a precious young woman who is the epitome of grace and strength. Miss Jobi Tate, seriously injured 11 days ago continues her arduous journey back to health. Her winning attitude is a beacon for me! My prayers go up with the multitudes for you JT! 3. Thanksgiving to all who have been with me on this “post op” journey. The days have gotten a bit rocky even though time heals. 4. The life of a beloved pet is too soon at an end. My thanksgiving for Sue Nord Maggi and Dave for the wonderful years they had with Buster “Brown”. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 5. Each day I’m thankful for the great animals with whom I am blessed! From crazy heifers and frisky horses young and old, to four dogs with personalities as diverse as the day is long. I love my precocious cat Barney and every bird that graces my yard…especially my Hummies, Orioles and Black Headed Grosbeaks…even those darn ringneck doves who are making a four engine run at a second breeding! It’s a zoo out there! 6. I’m thankful to the forum we know as Facebook. It has it’s problems, but the benefits Samuel, far outweigh the pitfalls. 7. …the new friends I meet each week, welcome! I am grateful for your presence! 8. …the patience you have for my shortcomings. 9. An email, a PM, a text and a phone call from dear friends today! 10. To God’s ever loving, amazing grace..Jeannie! Tonight’s ten for ten on perseverance~ “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture~ “Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” Winston Churchill, Never Give In!: The Best of Winston Churchills Speeches~ “If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.” H.G. Wells~ “Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.” Rabindranath Tagore, Collected Poems and Plays of Rabindranath Tagore~ “Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” Martin Luther~ “When things go wrong, dont go with them.” Elvis Presley~ “Thats one of the remarkable things about life. Its never so bad that it cant get worse.” Bill Watterson~ “once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit” Vince Lombardi~ For my friend Jimmy…you are not a quitter! “My own heroes are the dreamers, those men and women who tried to make the world a better place than when they found it, whether in small ways or great ones. Some succeeded, some failed, most had mixed results... but it is the effort thats heroic, as I see it. Win or lose, I admire those who fight the good fight.” George R.R. Martin~ “Go back? he thought. No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go! So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit~ It’s only Wednesday people, but we have this! I love you big, I truly do!
