Tonight, I gave my Quilter a proper workout with some friends of mine here in Riverside. Most guitarists know that you can make damn near anything sound good in a garage. You dont really know how a piece of gear is gonna hold up until you hear a drum kit and a bunch of cymbals smashing against your sound in a loud club. Since I started playing music for a living, Ive had the exact same preference in all amps, back line or otherwise. At least 50 watts, 6L6 tubes, 12 speakers and an open back. From there, I can dial pretty much anything. Until now. My amp is now a solid state, closed back, 8 speaker and its 200 watts of powerhouse tone. Quilter amps make you forget everything you know about tone. Forget what you think you know about solid state amps. Forget all of it. This thing blows my mind. I also tried the Direct Out feature. Its incredible. No more micing amps. No more proper mic placement that never really seems to work anyway. No more tubes heating up. No more tubes getting flat by the end of the night. No more standby. No more inconsistency. No more fear of neon lights or voltage sags. Im in heaven with this amp. Quilter has completely figured it out. Theyve really just nailed it. I feel totally blessed. Its a new day. And theres no more bullshit. Thank you, Lord for the Quilter company…. Daaaamn!!!! Im all in. See ya later, tubes! :) lol
