Tonight I had an opportunity to see Holler If Ya Hear Me, directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon. I really LOVE the show! The music, lyrics and poetry of Tupac Shakur--AMAZING. The orchestration and the singing--FANTASTIC. Unfortunately, the show is struggling. After the show tonight, I ran into PR guru ,Terrie M. Williams backstage, and she said it best--it would be criminal if this show closes. If you love musical theater, if you love the music of Tupac Shakur, it is a MUST SEE and a great treat! The production must show immediate results to stay open. We visited several of the cast members backstage to show our love and support. Here are a few pictures with Kenny Leon, the beautiful and talented Tonya Pinkins (LOVE HER), Saul Williams (AMAZING), Christopher Jackson, John Earl Jelks, Jared Joseph, Joaquina Kalukango, Charlene Chi-Chi Smith, and others. The real treat for me was running into two people I have admired throughout my entire PR career--Terrie Williams and Ramon Hervey II! Thanks Ru, Karu F. Daniels!!
