Tonight I ran a local race (4miles) that supports children with Down syndrome. There is always talk about NBMAers being medal crazy. However, I always look for local races that support great causes and have no problem not getting medals. This race also had a kids race (half mile) and I am so proud of my children and their friends. They were the only little brown children out there but that did not stop them. They were so eager to participate in the race and did very well. It made me realize how much of an impact it is to see their moms (the other mom is also a multi marathoner) run, has had on them. Kudos to the children.
