Tonight I read that my college roommate, Kjersten Kruzemissile, passed away. We roomed together at the University of Iowa our Freshman and Sophomore years. I was so nervous about starting college and being away from my friends, but she made the transition so awesome. We hated talking to the girls on our floor and most nights stayed in just to make fun of them. I remember when she started working at Jimmy Johns in Iowa City-She always brought me home at #12 on wheat bread and stuck it in the fridge for my hangovers. She always looked out of for me when she knew I was going to hit the streets with friends or be out late. She put up with my freak-a-zoid habits: I had to have the AC cranked all of the time and she was always so cold. I have a phobia of hair so she filled out that college roommate assessment like a champ and marked down all of the crazy things that drove me nuts! I remember her taking hour long showers and giving her crap for it. She always drank La Croix water. I didnt even know what that was, but I knew it looked cool! She was so patient and kind. I remember when she started the application process to study abroad. She worked night and day on all of those requirements. I was so sad when she left for New Zealand! I dont think I saw her again after she left, but shell always be in my heart. Best roommate, ever. Thank you! Rest in paradise!
