Tonight, I think back on everything my mom did for my brother and me. She inspired, shaped, motivated, drove us in everything we did. She went back to school and got her college degree after my brother and I were in elementary school. I still remember her drinking wine, studying for finals with one of her college friends. She went into sales in the technology industry and broke thru the glass ceiling exceed her sales quotas year after year. She taught us to go for it, take chances, make things happen, and show compassion for those less fortunate. She taught us volunteering is an opportunity to give back. She believed that too much is given, much is expected, and therefore much is expected to be given back! She taught us to never give up even when the chips were stacked against her during the last three months of her life. She instilled a self confidence in my brother and I that continuously drives us to try new things and always shoot for the stars. Four years goes by quickly but I gotta think she is up there doing bigger and better things. I am looking forward to that day when our paths cross again and I can see her smile once again.
