Tonight I took a walk around the estate grounds of my hotel and came upon a field of grazing cows, who -- all at once -- turned their heads, stopped chewing, and stared at me quite fixedly. It looked to me like there was nothing between me and them. Now, I grew up a suburban girl, but I do know enough to stay away from bulls. But cows? I continued walking and soon discovered that in fact between us was a ditch running all along the edges of the pasture, a dry moat, buttressed by stone. No wonder the cows just stood there and watched me walk by. Nice cows. Good cows. So here they are. All you country girls, please feel free to giggle derisively at me. I wont mind a bit. :)
