Tonight I was approached by the donor mom who made this video. She told me the story of her daughter dying of a brain aneurysm at age 28, leaving behind three kids. Because she told her mom at age 16 she wanted to be an organ donor five others were able to stay with their families. I also met her youngest son Demetrik, now being raised by his grandmother. Unfortunately, he wont know his mom, but she ensured other kids wont lose their parents. Her stopping me really touched me. She saw a sign on my car and acted on impulse. One of my biggest issues is knowing my life will only come at the cost of another. Hearing this donor mom tell me her story, and how proud she is of her daughter, really helped me in trying to come to terms with that.
