Tonight Im combining the current (previous) theme night with the new theme night - Bad Boys of Rock Meets Christmas. The end of Thanksgiving marks the start of the Christmas season. Surely youve heard plenty of Christmas music by now, whether you were out shopping today or maybe you put some on while you decorated or baked today. One thing is for sure, you probably havent heard Christmas music like this... Twisted Sister is a badass heavy metal band in womens clothing and over the top makeup. I suppose you could consider the band as a whole as bad boys of rock. Most of their bad boy image is within their songs or performances anyway. In the mid-80s, singer Dee Snider participated in the Senate hearing that eventually led to the use of the Parental Advisory warning on albums. Snider, along with Frank Zappa and John Denver testified against censorship. Now...the Christmas part. Although I know that Dee Snider grew up in a religious household, to watch him in his drag, singing O Come, All Ye Faithful is both absurd and fantastic. Leave it to these guys to make a video like this to go along with a song about the baby J. By the way, the hymn was thought to have been created in the 1700s but the English version was translated in 1841. 174 years worth of people covering it and I give you Twisted Sister ;) These guys have 2 Christmas albums, by the way.
