Tonight Im going to post links to bands that inspired different aspects of my taste in metal Decapitated were the first band I heard that made me realise that songs in metal dont just have to be focused on guitar riffs and melodies. Their main focus (to me anyways) was on grooves, which radically changed my views on how you could use rhythmic patterns to create a memorable song. using the drums as the primary focus and guitar secondary was a revelation for me.
