Tonight Im posting a courtesy video for Charles Smithgall Humane Society and Adoption Center in Sautee, GA. They have rescued dogs from our shelter and this is my way of saying thank you! I met PawPaw when I took dog cookies and cat toys to their shelter for Christmas and this scruffy little guy just stole my heart. I have a very elderly and fragile Jack Russell and cant add any more animals to my house right now, but I can help out and share this video of this sweet little guy! PawPaw Pawpaw is an owner relinquished 3-year-old terrier mix who is frightened by the drastic change in his move from a warm, comfy home to the chillier noisy kennel environment. He is housebroken, crate trained, good with kids and knows basic commands. He arrived Nov 21, 2014. He is what I call a Hall Monitor. If youve owned a lot of dogs, youve probably had at least one Hall Monitor in your life. They are characters! They have to be the boss and know everyones business. PawPaw doesnt always show himself to his best advantage when meeting prospective adopters because hes too busy being worried about the other dogs in the shelter and barking because *they* are barking. Get him away from the noise and chaos of the shelter, though, and you have a very sweet, quiet, friendly dog! PawPaws perfect home would be as either an only dog (so he didnt have anyone else to worry about) or hed probably do great with a sister of similar size. Hall Monitors usually love to have a partner in crime, but dont like a pack. I introduced him to the kitties in the office and he was friendly toward them, tail wagging. You never can tell about terriers and cats because terriers like to chase anything that will run from them, but PawPaw showed no aggression toward the kitties and might do just fine with a big, confident feline who wasnt afraid to let him know when hes overstepping his boundaries.
